Five years after the formation of FAC, Co-Founder Jocelyn King finishes her term as a Director on the FAC Board

Five years after the formation of First Australians Capital (FAC), Co-Founder Jocelyn King has finished her term as a Director on the FAC Board.

As a Founding Member and Director of FAC, Jocelyn’s work as inaugural CEO has helped to establish FAC’s legitimacy within the investment community, which resulted in the capacity building and investment support of over 200 Indigenous enterprises.

The FAC community recognises Jocelyn’s long-term commitment to accelerating equity and self-determination for Indigenous entrepreneurs.

Looking Back

Jocelyn is a Bundjalung woman whose mission was to democratise capital with a system that pays it forward to Indigenous communities both culturally and environmentally.

Although FAC is only five years old, Jocelyn’s journey with FAC began 15 years ago at Yarnteen.

At Yarnteen Jocelyn worked with FAC’s Managing Director and Co-Chairperson, Leah Armstrong to develop strategies around Indigenous economic development.

Nine years later, Jocelyn was asked to take on the role of the inaugural CEO of FAC.

Once onboard Jocelyn, worked closely with Indigenous businesses and investors to create a sustainable and inclusive economy, that not only increased access to capital but also celebrated Indigenous culture and protection of the land.

We would like to sincerely thank Jocelyn for everything she has done and will continue for the growth of the Indigenous business sector. Her work in supporting and accelerating equity and self-determination in Indigenous entrepreneurs is boundless.

A snapshot of Jocelyns’ achievements during her time at FAC:

Creation of the FAC business development team and our unique enterprise support program.

The creator and driver of some of FAC biggest partnerships such as Westpac.

Innovation and creation of the Welcome to Country platform and.

Yinaa Murrnong Ngurrumpaa (Women’s Daisy Yam Project).
