Partnerships at the centre of driving a new economy
First Australians Capital, supporting Gudjuda Reference Group Aboriginal Corporation
Gudjuda, meaning “saltwater people”, is a place of deep historical discovery and cultural exploration. Established in 1999, Gudjuda Reference Group and Aboriginal Corporation has become an important social enterprise, centred on workforce development and training, providing a variety of Indigenous employment opportunities and land and sea management projects from its headquarters, about an hour and a half’s drive south of Townsville, QLD.
Gudjuda is soon to commence Turtle Rescue tours, with visitors invited to join the effort of tagging sea turtles, providing much needed research and data to ensure future generations can continue to access these beautiful creatures. Gudjuda sells fruits and vegetables from its market garden, showcases the cultural importance of Plantation Park through its significant Juru Walk, and coordinates Bush Tukka Walks and Rock Art Tours under the mentorship and patronage of the Traditional Owners.
First Australians Capital is providing business advisory services to Gudjuda in order to develop a robust working infrastructure and provide access to potential paths to funding. First Australians Capital is proud to support Gudjuda’s mission to deliver long-term, sustainable impact and profound social and economic benefits to the region.
First Australians Capital provides a dedicated Business Relationship Manager to work alongside each Indigenous business to help them identify opportunities – and then develops a tailored suite of wrap-around support to ensure that the business has the skills and processes in place to deliver results.
If you or your business is seeking support, we invite you to tell us about your business.
